Retiring To The Algarve

Portugal is a wonderful country with a superb climate, so it is no wonder that many Britons of retiring age want to move there when they finally get that gold watch. Many have been to the Algarve on holiday, some of them year after year, and it is understandable that they would wish to retire there.

Finding the perfect home is key, and there are plenty of towns such as Faro, Vilamoura, and Portimao on the coast which make a lovely retirement home.

When you have found the perfect home, you will no doubt be selling up in the UK and looking for removal companies to Portugal, of which there are several. If you need Algarve removals to Portugal there are companies which specialise in that area and some of them do regular weekly or bi-weekly runs there because there is so much demand. When you are looking for removals to Portugal it is a good idea to use a specialist company because their drivers are familiar with the roads and the towns and know their way around.

Equally important is that if you are not moving to Portugal just yet, or you simply need a small load – even a single case or carton – moved there, these specialist companies can simply include it on their next regular run. This will save you a considerable amount of money on the delivery because they are going there anyway, so they are happy to earn a little more by filling up their van. That is really a win-win situation.

Use A Specialist For Removals To France

If you are going to move to France, which many people do – especially to the warm Mediterranean coast – you will need to use a company that specialises in house removals to France. It is better to use a company that specialises in removals to France because their team will have the experience of several years and their drivers will know the best routes. This is particularly the case if you are moving to one of the villages high in the mountains up long and winding roads. Indeed, in some of the villages the roads are very narrow, and it may be necessary to transfer your belongings to a smaller van for the last stretch.

Even if you are not moving to the mountains, but moving to somewhere like Rouen or Reims, you will still be safer with a company that knows the way and knows how to deal with French customs and so on. Of course, you may not be moving to France personally but just need to move a carton, in which case some of the specialist removal companies to France undertake regular runs there, so they can include your carton as a part load which will save you money.

The same thing applies to removals to Spain, and a specialist company will be able to give you an estimate of the cost of removals to Spain so that you have some idea of the overall expense before booking a trip.

Do Your Due Diligence Before Appointing An International Shipping Company

If you need to move goods abroad, for whatever reason, you will need the services of one of the international shipping companies in the UK. There are quite a lot of them and every last one of them will tell you how good they are. However, it is best to undertake a little research first.

If you are a business that is planning to move shipments on a regular basis to certain worldwide destinations, you really need to know whether the shipping company has experience of the destinations that you require. Different countries have different regulations as to what they will and won’t let in, and as to conditions of entry. What you don’t want is to find that your shipment is stuck in a customs warehouse at YOUR expense because the shipping company you chose didn’t know that they had to have a document signed in triplicate and written on a blue sheet of paper! That might sound silly, but what if something like that happened to you?

Even if you are only needing to ship a small carton – say an antique desk to a customer in Venezuela – you want to be confident that it will arrive in one piece. You cannot replace an antique desk, and if it gets damaged on the way to the customer it could cost you thousands of pounds, to say nothing of the damage to your reputation as an international antiques dealer.

So yes, do your due diligence before you appoint a shipping company to carry out the tasks that you need.

Moving To Spain Requires An Experienced Removal Company

Many people in the UK decide when they retire that they want to go and live in Spain, and that is hardly surprising. It’s a land of sunny weather and good golf courses, and of course it is the destination of choice for thousands of Britons for their annual holiday, for much the same reasons. So why wouldn’t you want to live there when finally freed of forty-five years of sweat and toil?

Of course, if you do decide to sell up and move to Spain you will need a company that specialises in house removals to Spain. This is not a job for a small local removal company, but one for a business that specialises in Spain removals and can pack your belongings in such a way that they all arrive in perfect condition at your destination. There are actually companies that specialise in removals to Spain and Portugal and go there so often that their drivers know the roads as well as they do the M25, the M1, or the M6.

Those are the sort of people that can take care of your belongings and ensure that they don’t get damaged on the journey. Moving home is always stressful, and even more so when you are leaving friends and relatives and moving to a totally different country, however well you know it. So you need to choose your removal company with care. Don’t necessarily go with the cheapest: find a company that has the experience that you need.

Moving Home Is Stressful, So You Need A Removal Company With Experience

If you are moving overseas from Lancashire, you will need to find a removals company with the necessary resources to move your complete home and belongings to wherever you are going. It can be an exciting thing to look forward to, yet there are always doubts and worries that can set in. In fact, it is said that moving home can be the most stressful thing you will ever do, and that’s just moving within the UK. When you are moving abroad you are uprooting the home of a lifetime, so the last thing you need to add to the worry is whether all your belongings will arrive in the right place at the right time and all in one piece.

Let’s say you are moving to the Algarve. You will need a company that specialises in Algarve removals to Portugal if that is the part of the country to which you are going, and which is, indeed, a very popular destination. You don’t want to entrust all your worldly goods to a start-up, no matter how friendly the people might be.

Then there may be the question of storage in Lancashire. If you have sold your home and had to move out, but your new home in the Algarve is not yet ready, you need a company that can not only move your goods but store them for a few weeks until your new home is ready. It really is well worthwhile spending a little time on research rather than relying on the first company that appears on Google.

Find An Experienced Company For Removals To Spain

If you are looking for house removals to Spain, or for that matter even very small removals to Spain, you need to find a company that has years of experience of moving goods and belongings there. There are plenty of companies that do undertake Spanish removals, but not so many that have been doing it for years. After all, you want your goods to arrive at their destination in one piece, so you are far better off with a company that has a track record rather than one which only started up six months ago.

How do you know? Well, you can look at their website for a start, which should tell you a thing or two. If they have been undertaking Spain removals for years, they will doubtless mention that on their site. If the site doesn’t say anything about it, that may mean that they are newcomers in the removal business.

Can you check how long they have been in business? Well, if it is a limited company you can. You can log on to Companies House (Google it), enter the name of the company, and get quite an amount of detail about it for free. This will include the names of the directors, how long they have been directors, and other information as well, including their registered office – which may, or may not be, the same as the trading address.

Of course, you can also go on to Google and enter the name of the company followed by the word “reviews” in order to find out what other people think of them.

Moving Overseas Can Be Scary

Moving overseas can be a scary business. You may be moving to somewhere like Spain or Portugal because you want to: you have been there many times on holiday and now you have retired and want to live in the sun. Or you may be moving to Trinidad because you have to, because your company is sending you there on an extended contract.

Obviously, the latter case is more scary, especially if you have never been to Trinidad. Yes, your company may have a home ready for you, but you have to move all your belongings and you worry about whether they will arrive there undamaged after such a long trip.

This is why you need one of the specialist international shipping companies like Movers International. In fact, our name is a bit of a giveaway, isn’t it?

That’s because it is what we do. We move people internationally and we have over 30 years of experience of doing it, so there is hardly a country in the world to which we have not been. Some countries we go to every week, such as the aforementioned Spain and Portugal, and also France and Germany. Others we may go to only two or three times a year but having been in the business of removals for over 30 years, and being members of the British Association of Removers, we have all the right contacts and the knowledge of foreign customs that are needed wherever you are heading.

One of the most important things, of course, is safely and securely packing all of your belongings ready for your move. Here you will find that our friendly and efficient team knows exactly how to pack everything so that it won’t get damaged en route. We only ever use the best packaging materials. Yes, they cost a little bit more than the cheaper stuff – not a lot, just a little – but we believe that you will think it is worth it to ensure safe delivery of your possessions. After all, you may have pieces of furniture that have been handed down in your family for years, and they are irreplaceable. It’s one thing going out and buying a new TV with the insurance money, but you can’t buy an antique mahogany table to replace one that has been damaged.

So when you are moving internationally, use a company that knows how to move internationally – Movers International.

Many People Retire To Spain For The Weather And Easy Pace Of Life

Very many Britons go to Spain for their holidays, and once they have been, return again and again. The weather, the people, and the low cost of living make for a country where life seems so much easier than in the hustle and bustle of UK cities. Many people up sticks and move to Spain when they retire because the pace of life is slower, and they may even be able to take their UK pension with them.

If you are thinking about moving to Spain it is a good idea to learn some of the language before you do so. Spanish is not actually very difficult to learn -certainly a lot easier than Chinese or Russian! If you are moving for the weather, the south of the country is the warmest part, while the north has a temperate climate of warm summers and mild winters, much like southern England. However, the central part of the country does tend to switch from very hot to very cold.

When you are considering house removals to Spain, you need a company that has experience of moving people to the country. Removals to Spain can be tricky if you are up in the hills where there are very narrow roads, and Spain removals can be difficult for a company that doesn’t go there very often. Some of the better-known Spain removals companies make regular trips there every week or two, and they will be your best bet for small removals to Spain since they can add a few items on to their vans as a part load.

Portugal – A Wonderful Country For The Slow Pace Of Life

Portugal is a wonderful country in which to live, provided you enjoy a rather slower pace of life than you would have in London, Manchester, Birmingham, or any of the other big cities in the UK. Younger people, or those who want a career are probably going to find that it doesn’t have the opportunities that Britain provides, but it is ideals for people who have retired. The weather is great, and there are plenty of golf courses, and there is always lovely countryside in which to walk when you get away from the cities.

Compared with the UK, the cost of living is very low, and the price of housing is low too. There are actually some residency incentives available to foreigners moving into the country, and taxation is low as well, so there are many benefits. You can stay in Portugal for 3 months without registering, but if you are moving there you need to register at the local town hall within four months, when you will be given a residency certificate for up to five years. You need to show that you are employed, or self-employed, and can support yourself and your family. Once your five years has expired you can apply for permanent residency.

Of course, you will need to find a company that specialises in removals to Portugal or Algarve removals to Portugal which is the area to which many Britons flock. There are several such removal companies, but you should ensure that you choose one that has many years of experience moving people to the country so that your move goes without a hitch.

Some Tips On Moving To Spain

If you are moving to Spain one of the things that you are going to need is a bank account. You may have an account with Santander over here and think that there will be no problem, but the fact is that you will need to open a separate bank account over there. The same applies if you are with Barclays or any other UK bank.

For house removals to Spain you will need certain documents in order to ship your belongings. These include a full inventory in Spanish! You will also need an NIE, even for small removals to Spain, which is a document that is issued by the Spanish Police and you can only obtain from the Comisaria General de Extranjeria office. These are not in every town, so you will have to go on to the national police website to find the nearest one.

In addition, you need your house deeds or rental contract, your passport, an application for duty free import, your residence certificate, and if you have a job a letter from your employer confirming that. Your removal company should be able to guide you with this.

There are some restrictions on removals to Spain. You cannot take any plants unless they have a Phytosanitary Certificate, and if you are taking a sporting gun you need a licence and permission from Spain. Spain removals that include your car will need you to register it within 30 days for which you will need to pass a Spanish MOT test.

What To Look For In A Company For Removals To France

When you are looking for removal companies to France it may be hard to make an accurate assessment because you have probably never moved to France before. What you most certainly need to look for is a company that has been established for a good many years. Sure, every company has to start somewhere, but wouldn’t you rather entrust your belongings to a company that has a lot of experience and has made all the mistakes, rather than one which has yet to make them?

All of your belongings are valuable, some of them in terms of cost, others of sentimental value, but they are all of value otherwise you wouldn’t be taking them with you.

Don’t necessarily opt for the cheapest company, either, for house removals to France. A first class removals company will use top quality packaging materials which are much more likely to result in safe transit to your destination than cheaper ones. Top quality packaging obviously costs more.

Also, take a look at the company’s insurance provisions. Are you covered if something does get damaged in transit, and if so, are you covered for enough? It’s your responsibility to ensure that you are happy with the insurance cover.

Another consideration when choosing a company for removals to France is their staff. Are they friendly, polite, and above all knowledgeable? Do they have answers to your questions or don’t they know? You need to be dealing with staff with whom you feel comfortable.

Removals in Lancashire

Organising effective removals in Lancashire and elsewhere can often be a lot more difficult than it first seems. That’s because not all removals services are made the same – and making sure that you find the right one for your situation is an important part of a successful move. Here’s some advice.

Work out what you’re taking
Finding out in plenty of advance how many possessions and furniture you’re going to be transporting is perhaps the most important thing you need to do. This will give you an idea how much storage space you need to book – and whether that’ll fit within your budget. Perhaps consider options for storage in Lancashire, or disposing of some of your possessions to keep the costs and stress down.

Get the right company – in plenty of time
Removals services aren’t always as quick and easy to organise as you might think – so make sure you organise your date well in advance.

When you’re doing this, you should definitely compare your options. Getting the best removals company for your job is about more than just getting the best price.

You should also make sure that they are fully insured, and that your belongings will be protected as much as possible throughout the whole process. This includes making sure they don’t overload their storage, and properly cushion delicate appliances like furniture. It’s tempting to just worry about getting everything from A to B – but if you don’t plan for contingencies like damage, you could be in a lot of trouble further down the line.

If you’re moving lots of appliances, it may even be necessary to organise a viewing with the removals service beforehand, to ensure they’re fully aware of all your individual requirements.

Top Tips for Relocating to Europe

Whether you’re looking for France removals, removals to Spain or countries further afield – you’re certainly going to want to make sure you’ve got everything organised well in advance of your move. But, like most things in life – that’s easier said than done. Here’s a few things you should consider.

What to pack – and when
The most important thing to consider when organising your house removals to Spain, France or elsewhere – is how much you’re bringing with you. If you’re trying to keep costs down – then getting rid of furniture and possessions you don’t really need, or keeping them in storage could be a good way of doing that.

It’s also important to make sure you’ve packed as much as possible in advance. If all of your inessential possessions are ready to go a few weeks in advance – then you’ll save yourself plenty of time and stress when it finally comes time to relocate.

Get some help
It might seem like everything is fairly manageable when you’re planning everything out. But things often end up being a lot more complicated than you anticipate, and it’ll certainly help to have a helping hand from a friend or relative when you’re packing everything up.

Do your research
If you’re looking for the best France or Spain removals company for your budget – you’re going to have to do some research in advance. Finding out the best price is just one part of this. You should also check that your items are going to be completely safe during the removals process. Make sure the company you decide to choose includes full insurance, and takes full care of your belongings during the process.

This also requires plenty of advance preparation. Make sure you’ve enquired about all the details and booked your slot well before the moving date.

Leaving Britain For Sunnier Pastures

Many families in Britain choose to move abroad when they retire. While the English countryside can be some of the best in the world, the same cannot really be said of our climate. Whether you are a believer in what used to be called global warming, but is now called “climate change” (largely because scientists don’t seem able to prove it is getting warmer) there is no doubt that the winters of the past few years have been dreadful. Global cooling would appear to be a more appropriate term!

So it is hardly surprising that many people now seek to move abroad. Many will go to Spain and Portugal, but some families wish to go a lot further such as to the Caribbean, the US, or even Australia and New Zealand. When you are moving overseas on this kind of journey you really need the services of one of the international shipping companies which specialises in this sort of move.

When moving this far, your home and belongings will be packed into a container. If you have a lot of things to take, you may need a full container, but if not you can save money by using a part container. There are certain things that you are not allowed to take abroad, such as plants for instance. You may want to take your own car, and there are special conditions which have to be met. However, an international moving company will know all the “ins and outs” and be able to advise you.

Moving Abroad To Continental Countries

It’s a fact that upon retirement many British people choose to move to sunnier climes. The weather in Lancashire in recent winters has been such that the thought of living somewhere where the temperatures are higher and the sun shines all day can be very tempting.

Many people choose to go to Europe because they have been there often for holidays and they get to know some of the towns and villages very well. Favourite destinations are France, Spain, and Portugal. If you live in Lancashire, there are house movers Preston who run regular services to a number of continental countries, France, Portugal, and Spain being frequent choices.

Removals to Portugal are popular, with the Algarve being a regular destination for many people. The area has expanded considerably over the last 30 years with what were once little fishing villages now becoming small towns, so popular has the area become. This has also resulted in the development of some very fine golf courses to service the needs of retirees.

Of course, you might want to Google “removal Spain” if that is where you are going, and doing so will give you a number of different options for removal specialists to that country.

Some people will retire to the parts of France that they have got to know well over the years. If you are downsizing you may not need a complete removal lorry, so if you Google “removals to France part loads” you will probably be able to find a company that can do that, thus keeping your removal costs down.

Leave The British Winters Behind And Move To The Continent!

Many Britons decide to move to the continent, especially when they retire, because the weather in Southern Europe is so much nicer than it can be in Northern England, especially during the winter. Let’s face it, winters can be pretty bleak, and we have had more than our fair share of bad ones, especially over the last few years. Many people attribute this to “climate change” and they could be right. However, the point that they seem to miss is that the climate of our planet has changed constantly for millions of years. Certainly, it may be warming at present, but in another five hundred years we might have another ice age!

This doesn’t alter the fact that many folk want to take advantage of the warmer climate in the Mediterranean, and so they begin to think about the process of moving permanently. They may look for France removals if they fancy the South of France, but many people move to Spain and will look for Spain removals. Others will like the Algarve and go looking for Portugal removals.

Wherever you decide to go, it is very likely that you may need storage Lancashire for some or all of your belongings before you go, for the simple reason that timing the sale of your home and moving into your new one abroad never seems to work out exactly. Fortunately, there are removals companies that can move you to wherever you are going, and also store your furniture before the big day if need be.

Tips to Pack for International Relocation

Relocating to Portugal? Here are some top tips to pack for international relocation:

Materials
You will need materials to pack up your possessions as well as possible. Cardboard boxes, confetti, bubble wrap and sheets of newspaper are good for smaller items. Larger items, such as furniture, should be wrapped in a cloth. Old bed sheets, or dust sheets are the ideal materials for this. It is also a good idea to have painter’s tape, otherwise known as masking tape, to hand so you can cover any furniture legs.

Packing
Smaller items should be packed separately with bubble wrap and paper. Brittle items, or fragile items, should be given space. This can be achieved by putting them in boxes. Larger items should be secured in the vehicle with straps.

Loading
When loading your goods, you will need fit and able-bodied helpers. Loading is all about using a safe technique which you can replicate. Larger items will need two or more people to be loaded safely into a truck, car, or van.

Unloading
A ramp, or steps, should be used to provide easy access to the vehicle. Unloading should be afforded the same care as loading. Take your time to safely remove items. Take regular breaks and don’t over exert yourself.

Not up for that? Then hire a removal company

International relocation to Portugal might seem like a daunting process but working with a professional international removals company will make the process much easier.

Removals companies to Portugal can offer small removals to Portugal, and they can offer a service for larger items too, such as moving furniture to Portugal.

Hiring a company to transport your possessions for you will take the stress away from packing, loading, transporting, and unloading. It’s a no-brainer. Removals companies offer good, seasonal rates too, so it might be more affordable than you think.

Tips in choosing The Right Removal Company When Moving To Portugal

Beautiful beaches, stunning ancient architecture and a rich cultural heritage make Portugal one of the best relocation destinations, for business or pleasure. But to make your move successful, stress-free and fast, you need a company who specialises in house removals to Portugal.

But choosing the right company for this job is not always easy. You not only want your precious goods to reach Portugal safely, but you also want them to get there on time! Plus, the planning must be flawless to ensure minimum inconvenience. So, before you decide on one company, here are some tips to help you choose the right one.
    • What services do they offer? Whether you are moving furniture to Portugal or your car or boat, find out what services the company offers. Will they take care of packing, disassembling furniture, transporting, unpacking and reassembling furniture? Will they provide the packing materials? Ask if they can take special care of items such as glass artifacts, paintings, sculptures, chandeliers, pianos or swings.
    • Do they offer insurance? Goods at times can get damaged during transit, no matter how careful removal companies to Portugal are. So ask if they provide insurance.
    • Do they offer a strict timeline? Even if you are hiring a company that provides small removals to Portugal, make sure they give you a strict timeline with dates of pickup and delivery clearly defined.
    • What will be the cost? Though you will naturally be asking for a quote from the removal company, ask them if and how the quote will change due to any unforeseen circumstances. It is suggested that you Compare rates from three or four removal companies before deciding on the one to use.
